Outreach

As 'a people for His purposes,' Cornerstone Church loves to be a part of what God is doing in our area. We run various events during the year such as the greatly received Community Music Workshops & Concert in September 2016, Good Friday outreach, HRH The Queen's 90th celebration. We also like to go out and meet local people and share the goodness of our amazing God through ministries such as our Leytonstone Tube outreach.

Night Shelter

Since 2009, we have partnered with other churches to provide an emergency shelter during the cold months. By working together, we have been able to provide 30 homeless people with food, warmth and a place to stay every night. We are thankful that this has been a huge help to many and even saved lives.

If you have a heart to serve with us, you can help cook in the kitchen or help set up beds. Training will be provided. For more details and info, download the contact form here. If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough, you can let StreetLink know and they will connect the individual with the local services they might need.

Time

Every Thursday from November to March.
The guests arrive at 8.00pm.

Cooking volunteers arrive at 6.30pm.
Volunteers who help set up beds arrive at 7.15pm.

Children Contact Centre

Our child contact centres are a place where children of separated families can spend time with one or both parents. They are safe child-centred environments with specific toys and facilities catered to the needs of children affected by family breakdowns.

They are run by different churches  that are accredited by the National Association of Child Contact Centres.

The help staff at our centre is volunteer-based and we’d love to have you if you’d like to make a difference in the lives of these children.

Time

Fortnightly on Saturdays from 10.00am – 12.00pm.

CITIZENS UK

Cornerstone Church is a member institution of Citizens UK. This provides incredible opportunities to harness the power of community organising and bring together a wide range of people from different faith and cultural backgrounds to collectively fight for the issues that are important to the local community. This extraordinary work builds bridges between an incredibly diverse mix of people and seeks to confront injustice and attain the common good in our community.
